Challenging calls

The other day I was playing a singles match and I hit a serve I thoughtwas good that my opponent called long.

Willy – Camp Day 4

George – Typical Texas weather! the temperature dropped down 20’ over night and it was very chilly in the morning. Nothing you want for your 4th day of competition when you back is stiff and your muscles are sore.

Willy – Camp Day 3

George – After 4 days, Larry and Jason , who are our physical trainers, have their hands full…. tons of ice are being used and there is muscle which hasn’t been work on…….the line in front of the massage room is getting longer and longer!

Willy – Camp Day 2

George – We started at 8:30 am with the morning singles matches and I was seated @ 5 and had to play Marty Judge, a very tough player and former doubles partner.

Willy’s Notes from Camp

George – After everybody arrived yesterday , we did the usual doubles play and the Legends had an opportunity to check out the rookies (only 10 this year). There are , beside you , also a lot of other regulars missing.

Rehab Tips

As Naples tennis friend and regular reader, Dick McNaughton said Friday, “I think I know your body better than I know my own!” But having gone through what is really a minor shoulder problem, I think I still did learn some good things about rehab and preventative measures.

Well, today was the day. After two months of shoulder pain, long stretches of rest/no play, and a ‘cortisone shot’ last week, I tested my shoulder with one hour of hitting with Marc VanDam (in 90 degree heat).
